Utilities | Archive Transactions

Overview: This option is used to keep the cash register at optimal performance. Although it will remain fast through thousands of transactions, when 40K-50K transactions accumulate, it is good to remove outdated sales information to a “history” file.



Archive Transactions Instructions

• Select Utilities | Archive Transactions.
  
• Enter the date for removing transactions. Typically this is several months back.
  
• Select Archive Data.
  

After the archive is complete you MUST BACKUP THE FILE THAT WAS MADE.

• Select My Computer | C:\CSM\Backups and find the all files with "Archive" int the name and make a manual copy of those files.  There should be a POSBackupBeforeArchive, PreARchive and PostArchve file.
  

Note: It is recommended this be stored on an external drive, but it can also be stored in another folder on your computer.
