Customize | Builder Pages

BUILDER PAGES


Builder pages allow items with multiple size options to be assigned to one button. Each builder page will have Size and Type buttons.  These pages are designed to provide conversational ordering "Can I get a quad, 24 oz. Mocha with whip cream please".  As the customer provides the size, shots, drink and extras the buttons are selected.  Once ready the FINISH button is selected and the product is added to the register.



NOTE:  The area in the red box is the working area of a builder page.  Only controls completely in this area will display on the menu.

Right-click features:

Button Type - Select the style of button you would like from the drop-down list.

Item ID – Select this to attach an Inventory item to the button.

Size – Select this to make the button a Size type.


Color – Select this to make the button a Color type.

Style – Select this to make the button a Style type.

Modifier List – Select this to attach a Modifier List to the button.

Modifier – Select this to attach a single Modifier to the button.

Flavor List – Select this to attach a Flavor List to the button.

Flavor – Select this to attach a single Flavor to the button.

Shot – Select this to attach a Shot type to the button.

Milk List – Select this to attach the Milk List to the button.

Roast – Select this to attach a Roast type to the button.

Label – Select this to assign the Button as a label or heading.

Cup Picker – Select this and to have the button toggle through the Cup Picker Styles on the Register tab.

Cup Discount – Select this to make the button apply a discounted amount.

Item Increment – Select this and select an Inventory items to use as a price multiplier up to 5 times when the button is selected.

Custom Button – Select this to make this button a Miscellaneous Key style button.

Decaf Button – Select this to  
  
Once a Button Type is selected there can be one of the options listed below.

Attach Item - This applies to an Item ID type button. This will allow an Inventory item to be selected and attached to the button.



NOTE:  After an item has been attached it will be listed in the place of ATTACH ITEM.   



Selected Type - This applies to all other Button Types and will provide an applicable list based on the Button Type enabled.  For example if FLAVOR is selected it will provide a list of all inventory items that are flagged as flavors, that can be assigned to the button.



Set Display Box – Set the background color, text color and font of the display box. This is the description box at the bottom that displays the item description as it is being built by selecting the size, type and modifiers.

Set Finish Button – Set the background color, text color and font of the FINISH ITEM button.

OnScreen Totals – Turn on/off or set the background color, text color and font of the onscreen running total box.

Swap First Button – Use this feature to swap two button positions.

Enable Snap To (F2 key) – This is a tool used for aligning, positioning and resizing buttons.

Load Builder Page - This allows you to select an existing menu page.

Save Builder Page - This allows you to save an existing menu page.

Scale Page - This utility will scale a menu built for a smaller screen resolution to a larger one. Typically used when going from 800 x 600 to a tablet.

Headings - These are the Column Header settings. There are 5 Headings available per page. They are numbered left to right on the page.  

NOTE:  These headings are for legacy menus and it is recommended to use a button that is set to a type of LABEL so it can be moved to any position on the screen.

  • Select the Heading number to edit. 
  • Enter in the column name in the Heading Text field.
  • Modify Header using the Text Color, Background Color and Font options.



Set Default Item - Select the Inventory Item ID, Size type, Color type, Style type and Shots included from the drop-down list to set as the default items when the page is selected.

Shot Panel – Options for defining the Shot Panel.

Use Shot Panel – Select this to enable the Shot Panel on the page.

Hide Shot Panel - Select this to remove the Shot Panel from the page.

Shot Panel Back Color - Select this to set the color behind the Shot Panel.

Shot Panel Button Color - Select this to set the color of the Shot buttons.




Set Shot Items - Select the Inventory ID from the drop-down list for up to 9 shot sizes.



Text Color – Provides options to set the button’s text color, or copy and paste the text color between buttons.

Background Color - Provides options to set the button’s background color, or copy and paste the background color between buttons.

Font - Provides options to change the button’s font, or copy and paste the font between buttons.

Clear Button - Select this to remove all previous selections from the button.

Copy Button – This will copy all of the attributes of a button to be used when pasting the entire button or the text and color attributes.

Paste Button – This will paste all of the attributes, of the previously copied button, into the selected button.

Insert Image - Select this to browse to the location you have stored your images to attach to a button.

Flat Style – .Change the depth of button on the screen. Standard (top) will produce a button that steps out of the screen. The flat options have no depth and can be displayed with a border (middle) or without (bottom).



Clear all builder buttons - Select this to remove all previous selections from all of the buttons.

Delete / Restore Buttons – This function will remove any buttons that are not in use. Once removed, use the restore to bring back a button if desired.

Creating a new Builder Page


The builder screen will default to a blank menu page.



Column Headings

NOTE:  It is recommended to use a button with a type of label when creating pages from scratch
  • Right-click anywhere on the page and select Headings
  • There are 5 column headings available on each Builder page. They are numbered from left to right.
  • Select the Heading number and enter the name you would like to Heading to be. 
 

 Note: Blank Builder pages have default Headings assigned to them. To delete a Heading name, simply delete the name from the Heading (#) field.


Sizes
  • Select a button to assign a Size to. 
  • Right-click and select Size from the Button Type drop-down list.
  • Select the Size name from the Selected Type drop-down list. 
  • Enter the button name in the Caption field on the lower, right-hand corner of the page. 
  • Use the right-click options to change the size, font and color of the button. 
Items
  • Select a button to assign an Inventory Item to.
  • Right-click and select Item ID from the Button Type drop-down list.
  • Select Attach Item.

  • Browse to the Inventory Item to be attached to the button using the Item ID, Size, Color, Style or Description fields.
  • Highlight the item and choose Select Item
  • Enter the button name in the Caption field on the lower, right-hand corner of the page.
  • Use the right-click options to change the size, font and color of the button. 

Modifiers & Flavors
  • Select a button to attach a Modifier or Flavor to.
  • Right-click and select Flavor or Modifier from the Button Type drop-down list. 
  • Select Attach Item.
  • Browse to the Modifier or Flavor using the Item ID, Size, Color, Style or Description fields. Highlight the item and choose Select Item.
  • Enter the button name in the Caption field on the lower, right-hand corner of the page. 
  • Use the right-click options to change the size, font and color of the button. 
Note: Another option is to attach a Modifier or Flavor List to a button. Modifier and Flavor Lists are created in Inventory Maintenance. See sections Inventory | Modifiers and Inventory | Flavors for more information.


Saving a Builder Page

Changes made to a menu page must be saved. If Quit is selected without saving, all changes will be lost.

  • Right-click anywhere on the Builder page and select Save Builder Page.
  • Enter a Builder ID
Note: All Builder page IDs must start with BLD.
  • Enter a Builder Description
  • Select Save Builder Page. 
Note: It is not necessary to change the Build ID or Description if you are changes to an existing page.

  • Right-click anywhere on the Builder page and select Load Builder Page.
  • Select a page from the Builder ID or Description drop-down list. 
  • Select Load Page

Removing a Builder page

This is the only way to permanently delete a Builder page.

  • Right-click and select Load Builder Page.
  • Select a page from the Builder ID or Description drop-down list.
  • Select Delete Page.
