Maintenance | Combo Meals 


The Combo Meal feature is designed to allow the customer to choose from multiple items in a group of items at a packaged price. Combo Meals are create by attaching existing Inventory items to groups and setting a packaged price.

 
Description – This is the Inventory item description name.

Item ID – This is the Inventory item ID name.

Item Size – This is the Inventroy item size selected (if applicable).

Price – This is the current retail price of the Inventory item.

Combo Price – This is the retail price the Inventory item is sold at with the current Combo Meal Group Price.

Base Combo Meal Price: – This field shows the retail price set for the Combo Meal.

Combo Meal Cost: – This field shows the meal cost based on the Item Cost entered in the Inventory item.

Price to Charge: – This field shows the retail price set for the Combo Meal.

Total Margin (%0) – This field shows the profit margin based on Cost versus Price.

Discount % – This field shows the percentage discount given to the Inventory items as a whole for the Combo Meal.

Add Item to Group – Select this to attach an Inventory item to the specified group.

? – Select this to view Combo Meal instructions.

Combo Meal ID – This is the ID name/number for the specified Combo Meal.

Description – This is the description name of the specified Combo Meal.

New Set – Select this to create a new Combo Meal.

Cancel – Select this to close out of the Combo Meal without saving changes.

Save – Select this to close out of the Combo Mean and save changes.

Edit – Select this to make changes to an existing Combo Meal.

Delete – Select this to remove an existing Combo Meal.

Exit – Select this to leave the Combo Meal screen.



Combo Meal Instructions

Below are the instructions to create and use Combo Meals.

Creating a Combo Meal:
  • Select Maintenance | Combo Meals
  • Select New Set
  • Enter a Combo Menu ID. For example: Lunch01
  • Enter a Description. For example: Lunch Combo #1
  •  Select Add Item to Group 1
  • Browse to the desired Inventory item and choose Select Item
  • Repeat the above step until all of the appropriate Inventory items are selected for Group 1
  • Select Group 2 in the upper, right-hand corner of the screen
  • Select Add Item to Group 2
  • Browse to the desired Inventory item and choose Select Item
  • Repeat the above step until all of the appropriate Inventory items are selected for Group 2
  • Continue attaching Inventory items to the Groups 3-6, as needed
  • Enter the retail price for the Combo Meal in the Price to Charge field
  • Select Save to store Combo Meal
Next you will need to attach the Combo Meal to button page in Customize. See section Customize for more information.

Purchasing a Combo Meal:

After the Combo Meal has been created and attached to a button page, it is ready to be used on the Register.

    
  • Select the Combo Meal button
  • Select an option from each group column 
  • Select Finish to complete the Combo Meal order
Combo Meals Scenarios

In this example we will be creating a Combo Meal for a Lunch Special that includes a Sandwich, Chips and a Drink. This Combo Meal will be priced at $9.00 total. The customer will be allowed to choose 1 option from each Group.

  
  • The first step is to create a Combo Meal by selecting New, entering a Combo Menu ID and a Description. For example: lunch01 with the Description Lunch Combo #1
  • Group 1 will include the Sandwich options 
  • Select Add Item to Group 1 and browse to the desired Sandwich items in the Inventory search screen. For example: Veggie Sandwich 

  • Repeat the Add Item process for Group 1 until all of the appropriate options are selected. For example: The Sandwiches, including Veggie Sandwich, Daily Deli Special and Italian Sub
  • Each Sandwich price is $6.95. Enter 6.50 in the Group Price: field. This equals a 6.47% discount
  • The next step is to repeat the Add Item process with Group 2 
  • Select the Group 2 button option in the upper, right-hand corner of the screen
  • Select Add Item to Group 2 and select the appropriate items for the next choice. For example: The Chips, including Potato Chips, Tortilla Chips and BBQ Chips 
  • Each Chips price is $1.95. Enter 1.75 in the Group Price: field. This equals a 10.26% discount
  • Next, repeat the Add Item process with Group 3 
  • Select the Group 3 button option in the upper, right-hand corner of the screen
  • Select Add Item for Group 3 and select the appropriate items for the next choice. For example: The Drinks, including Sobe, FUJI Water, Sprite, Pepsi and Diet Coke 
  • The Drink prices vary from $1.00-$1.59. Enter .75 in the Group Price: field. This equals a 25-52.83% discount
  • The Lunch #1 Combo Meal now equals $9.00. This gives the total percentage discount for the Combo Meal to equal 11.05% 
After saving the Combo Meal, the next step is to attach it to a button in Customize.


  • Select the appropriate button page to attach the Combo Meal to by selecting the Button Design, right-clicking on the page, selecting Load Button Page, selecting the desired page from the Description: drop-down list and selecting Load Page
  • Right-click on the page and select Add Button
  • Right-click on the button and select Attach a Combo Meal from the menu options
  • Select the appropriate meal plan from the Combo Meal Description drop-down list and choose Select. For example: Lunch Combo #1
  • Enter the name to appear on the button in the Button Text: field. For example: Lunch Combo #1
